A New Paradigm In Physical Therapy

Physical Therapy Discovery SessionThere’s a new paradigm in Physical Therapy……an anthology on why we hurt and what to do about it.

Old school PT went like this…..och! I hurt myself….. time goes by….. I think about what to do and question “why is this happening to me”?…. and I am still hurting…. NOW…. its time for action…… I call my doctor and make an appointment….. then I get a referral for PT (maybe)…. I call the therapist and get on the books for an appointment. This is a lot of steps!

How about…. och! I hurt myself…. just FYI people…. you do not need a referral to see a PT anymore. I call the therapist and set up a meeting to see if what is going on with me can be explained. I find out the “why” of what’s happening and the “how” it can be treated in a free 30 minute “discovery session”.

Now I have knowledge and understanding and I can make an informed decision about how to spend my healthcare dollars and I am given options on how to get started.

There is power in being listened too and having someone explain to you how your body is optimally aligned, or isn’t in most cases, and how to improve it to get out of pain. You may have an underlying issue that’s caused by a chronically up-regulated nervous system that is making it hard to actually do the things you love doing or even do basic exercises.

If this sounds like you, take a more direct route,  call your PT and see if they will sit down and explain to you the “why” and the “how” of your issue.
